Andrea Elson

Andrea Hope Elson was an American actress. Elson started her acting career as child model/actress and then as an actress professionally, is most well-known for her role as Alice Tyler as seen on the CBS science-fiction drama. Andrea got the part of Lynn Tanner, in ALF (1986) after she auditioned. The actress was a regular in a variety of TV shows as well as Movies of the week before she made the decision to quit the entertainment industry. Andrea Elson was playing Lynn Tanner as the teenager daughter of Kate and Willie in a period when she had been going through a difficult time. In a 2000 retrospective in People Elson said developing as a young woman in front of the sitcom-viewing audience was difficult. The green-eyed New York City actress was born on March 6, 1970. Her father worked in advertising, and she was raised as a traveler because of that. Before turning 10 the actress had been living at New York Chicago San Diego Los Angeles. Andrea found an agent in San Diego and won her audition to play the role she wanted for her debut. Fusco was in favor of the idea explaining, "ALF can drink beer since he's older than 285." As ALF became increasingly popular, NBC said that Fusco could no longer have ALF drinking beer with the kids. This was a negative role model. Fusco was still convinced that ALF was an adult and could manage the alcohol. In 1995, he was found to have lymphoma. The cancer was treated successfully and he was in complete remission for the rest of his life. The disease was fatal on 26 June 2019 when he was 75 years old at the Lillian Booth Actors Home, Englewood NJ.
